Position players haven't even officially reported to camp yet this spring, but yet I feel as we have already learned so much about this team. I'm always up for a little knowledge being dropped on me, so let's review the top then lessons we've already learned about the 2011 Angels thus far in Spring Training.
Bonus lesson: catchers need to catch the ball or they get their fat asses shipped out of the country.
The Angels may not have had a blockbuster off-season, but they still managed to fill out most of their roster already. That being said, there are still two or three roster spots that need to be filled and there is surprisingly crowded field of competitors for those jobs (I guess that is what happens when you fail epically in free agency). So, which Angel players and prospects are on the roster bubble this year? And what are their odds of having their bubbles burst, sending them tumbling back to the minor leagues... or worse?
I'd be sweating too if I was out of options and working on my fifth attempt to make the big league club and actually stick there finally.
Daily Links for the LA Angels including Scioscia leaning towards carrying 12 pitchers, former Angel John Lackey's wife has breast cancer, Takahashi knew almost nothing about the Angels before signing and much more...
Another year, another laundry list of injuries for Maicer Izturis. That was his story in 2010, but can 2011 be any different? With a starting job at third base and an opening at leadoff hitter, the door is wide open for Izturis to become a key player for the 2011 Angels, but will his body allow him to take advantage of the opportunities?

Spring Training literally just started and things are already getting off on the wrong foot both literally and figuratively. Every Angel fan's worst nightmare came one step closer to reality when Kendry Morales publicly questioned his own ability to be ready for Opening Day. Is this really just the team and their star being overly cautious or is this the next chapter in Kendry's Cuban Ankle Crisis?
Almost a year after his embarrassing injury and Morales still isn't right? Say it ain't so!
