Top Ten Thursday: Reasons I Love Opening Day

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Opening Day is well upon us, but I can't but express my sheer euphria at most joyous occassion.  I don't care how cliche these are, but I present you with my top ten reasons for loving Opening Day.

Opening Day

If the game gets rained out today, I might go postal on somebody.

Game Preview 3/31/11: Angels @ Royals - The 50th Times the Charm

Written by Ryan Falla on .

angels      @ royals
Game Time: 1:10 PM
Jered Weaver (0-0 0.00 ERA) vs Luke Hochevar (0-0 0.00 ERA)
Broadcast: T.V (FS-W)

I just want to start off this article by congratulating all of the Angel players who made it on the 25 man roster for the season, you've all earned it. One more congratulations to Weaver and Hochevar for receiving the call for Opening Day. Now, with all ass kissing aside it's time to touch on something a tad bit "negative". For us Angel fans it a positive, but for the Royals fans...its far from positive. The starting pitcher for KC is Luke Hochevar, which shows just how absolutely inadequate the Royals starting rotation is shaping up without Greinke. Lets just save the smack talk for the article.

The Monkey Predicts the 2011 Season

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

Predictions!  It is about time I gets to making mine (otherwise they revoke my blogger license).  Since first pitch is just a few hours away, let's not waste anymore time and take a gander at all the prognostications of mine that will probably be used to make me look like an idiot later this year... unless I go back in and edit this post in October.  But I'd never do that... as far as you know.  Now if I can just find a way to delete files from Google cache and it will be the perfect crime.
Monkey with a ball
Hmmm, this isn't exactly a crystal ball, but I guess it will have to do.

Winning Wednesday: Rotation Options and Vital Internal Organs

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

Once again, Winning Wednesday leads me down strange roads as I honor a man that I have spent most of the week besmirching while also lavishing praise on a man who will soon be missing a vital internal organ.  Who could they be?

Charlie Sheen tour poster

OK, I think this is going to be the last week I pay homage to Sheen, but this poster is pretty damn cool.

We all know about the trade and that contract, but what about Vernon Wells the player?  Can he cut through all of the outside BS surrounding his acquisition and help make the Angels better, or will his career of inconsistency rear its ugly head and make the organization look even worse for having acquired him?
