Twitter Trend Tuesday Results: #ItCouldBeWorse

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

The #ItCouldBeWorse campaign worked pretty well today.  It may not have been the most active of Twitter Trend Tuesdays, but I'm going to go ahead and take credit for raising everyone's spirits and giving the Halos enough of a morale boost to snap them out of their slump.

It Could Be Worse

As promised, here are some of the top tweets from other users for #ItCouldBeWorse:

Game Recap 4/5/11: Change for the Better - Angels 5, Rays 3

Sometimes it seems like Mike Scioscia fears change, but the Angels skipper made some bold and uncharacteristic changes to kick-off the series and Tampa and those changes couldn't have worked out better.

Well, here we are to start the season off, once again at 1-3. The Angels MUST win two game series, we can't risk going home 2-4 or 1-5, we need to be at .500 if we want to keep up with a Rangers team red hot out of the gate. Once again, these bullpen atrocities are starting the team off on the wrong foot. Despite the back to back to back bullpen blunders, there are a few things that one could get excited about regarding the Angels. For one, all that talk about Howie Kendrick "finding himself" seem to be true, and he's looking like that batting champ we were all promised. Either he's gotten off to a very hot start, or he's finding his groove, lets just hope its the latter. The outfield is looking as spectacular as we could have hoped, save for the game saving catch Wells missed on Sunday. Wells isn't to blame though, Fraudney shouldn't have put the team in such a sensitive situation. Lets just pray that these bright spots continue to shine, we're definitely going to need to bring our A++ game to face this completely new and improved Rays.

The Kazmir Kool-Aid

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

I may or may not have ripped Scott Kazmir a new a-hole on Twitter yesterday (SPOILER ALERT: I did rip him a new one).  But my protestations were not accepted by everyone.  Apparently there is still a contingent out there that still has Kazmir's back.  They plead and plead with me but I did not break.  That was yesterday, and this is a new day, a day in which I am feeling a little generous.  As such, I am going to give that vocal minority a chance and I will take a big ol' swig of the Kazmir Kool-Aid to see if I can be convinced that the embattled pitcher can still find redemption.

Hey Kool-Aid

This Kool-Aid tastes like FAIL.

Twitter Trend Tuesday: #ItCouldBeWorse

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

Things in Angels Nation are a little unsettling right now, and justifiably so.  Normally, I am leading the charge of negative energy, but I'm going to try and turn the tide this time.  That usually doesn't work out for me, but with a little help from my Twitter friends, it just might work.  So join me on this Twitter Trend Tuesday to remind the rest of the Angel fans that #ItCouldBeWorse.

The Bullpen of Despair

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

To say the Angels bullpen is in disarray is like saying that Japan has a little bit of water damage to tend to.  Last year, I thought the relievers were so bad I dubbed the bullpen the "Bullpen of Doom."  Somehow this year's bullpen is shaping up to be even worse, so I have no choice to name them the "Bullpen of Despair."  Will there ever be any escape from this endless torture or are the Halos doomed to see their season die at the hands of the Bullpen of Despair?
