Free For All Friday: FREEDOM!

Written by Garrett Wilson on .

Welcome to Free For All Friday, the one time per week where this all-Angels, all the time blog takes a brief break to discuss things unrelated to the Halos.  Why, you ask?  Why not?  That's why.  I know all you commenters have a lot of burning baseball and non-baseball issues on your mind, so take advantage of this freedom and comment your little heart out.

Braveheart Freedom!

Discuss whatever you want, just don't copy Mel and start dropping Anit-Semitic slurs.

It's All Up To The Youngsters

Written by Ryan Falla on .

With the 2011 season just days away, many Angel fans anxiously await this offseasons most asked questions to be answered. We all wonder if our team will be able to pull through and finally prove every "expert" analyst in baseball wrong. The key players in this coming season won't be players like Weaver or Hunter, who have carried the team in the past. This year, the most important players will be the 4 rookies going into their first full season of Angels baseball. If these rookies can show what they are made of not only will they be the tape that holds the team together, they will be the rocket that propels the Angels to the next level.

Note: Conger doesn't look to figure into the Angels plans for the season, most likey going to go down once Downs or Pineiro come back, so I'm leaving him off this list. He'll most likely play as a reserve for the first few weeks of the season and again once September call-ups roll around.

Sorry you won't be joining us for the entire 2011 season, I fully expect a 2012 full of Hank Conger.

An April Fool's day edition of Daily Links for the LA Angels including Downs and Morales progressing towards rehab assignments, Hunter blogs about Opening Day, and one headline that I totally fabricated in honor of this "holiday"...

Game Recap 3/31/11: Angels 4 Royals 2

Written by Ryan Falla on .

Guess what Angel fans, today we get to experience something that was extremely rare last season. Not only did we get an Opening Day win on the road, we're now in 1st place. Lets take a quick moment to savor that fact....

Ok now, moving on....I realized how brash and arrogant my preview was, throwing out predictions left and right with absolute disregard for my writing integrity. Common sense tells me not to make any more brash predictions so hold on to my integrity, too bad I am not a man of common sense. I need to redeem myself for those prediction, so I'm going to have to continue making irresponsible predictions until I get one right.

Game Preview 3/31/11: Angels @ Royals - The 50th Times the Charm

Game Time: 1:10 PM
Jered Weaver (0-0 0.00 ERA) vs Luke Hochevar (0-0 0.00 ERA)
Broadcast: T.V (FS-W)

I just want to start off this article by congratulating all of the Angel players who made it on the 25 man roster for the season, you've all earned it. One more congratulations to Weaver and Hochevar for receiving the call for Opening Day. Now, with all ass kissing aside it's time to touch on something a tad bit "negative". For us Angel fans it a positive, but for the Royals fans...its far from positive. The starting pitcher for KC is Luke Hochevar, which shows just how absolutely inadequate the Royals starting rotation is shaping up without Greinke. Lets just save the smack talk for the article.
